“Mommy! I want to help!” is something I hear when I’m sewing or painting. Internally, I groan because I’m selfish and impatient and an introvert. BUT, I also long to have my kids learn some of the skills I have, to enjoy being creative, make fun memories and be open to learning new things. Hello, internal conflict- there you are again.
Grace sat on my lap and we sewed these fun hooded towels together. She learned not to turn the tension dial all the way up. She learned not to stick her little hands near the needle. She learned that there are lots of steps to making a project, and that it’s fun to model the end product.
They are supposed to be “angry bird” hooded towels, but they turned out a little “special”. And yes, that’s me in the yellow, since Kaylee was fussing.
Look at that happy little girl learning to sew like her mama!
You are such a great mama! The towels are adorable. Love you and your little helpers.
Did you sew with me on your lap too, mom? I know you somehow taught me to use the sewing machine, but I can’t remember how!
