Letter Art Workshop #2 at ReHouse

November 17, 2014 By: Amy Trager1 Comment

I recently hosted another fun workshop making funky junky letter art at ReHouse!

Knowing this was a popular workshop the first time around, I rounded up piles  of miscellaneous do-dads, broken hinges, rusted door plates, cabinet door pulls and other little treasures.

19 creative ladies (NINETEEN!!!) spent the evening with us, rummaging through piles for the perfect letter or shape . We used salvaged door headers or baseboards for the base of the artwork. Some people painted the wood, others hammered pieces into the right shape.  A combination of glue, tacks and nails kept everything in place.

At the end of the night, everyone left with a unique piece of artwork to gift or decorate their home.

Here are some photos of the creations!

Weighted Blanket for my sis

Last year, my sister mentioned that she wanted a weighted blanket, like the ones doctors recommend to people with autism, anxiety or insomnia.  She’s always loved blankets (me too) and those heavy corn/ rice packs that can be warmed up in the microwave (me too).   Knowing that her birthday was coming up, I looked at buying […]
