Vest to scarf brings JOY

December 1, 2015 By: Amy Trager1 Comment

Scarf to vest

Here’s the story behind this little project:

We went to Target to buy a birthday present for a little friend.

There was a pre-entrance talk about our purpose.

Followed by a reminder or two (or seventeen) in the store.

I get it: It’s hard to shop for a friend when you want everything you see. (Welcome to shopping at Target, little one.)

Target vest

Inspirational piece from Target.

This vest caught Grace’s eye and her life would not be complete without it.

It got ugly.  She didn’t get to the rolling on the floor tantrum, but close.

We left the store with presents and no vest.

It was a win for mom, but there was no joy in standing my ground.  No JOY at all.

The next day I remembered a white fuzzy scarf that was quite similar to the WP_20151028_001vest.  With two quick seams, the scarf was transformed into a mini vest.  Not quite the same as the $24.99 version, but close enough.

It was fun to see her eyes light up as she twirled around the kitchen in her new fuzzy vest.  Scarf to vest
