Joshua: I want to go to RIT when I grow up for two reasons. One, to be close to you and dad and second, because they have a really long Christmas break.
I smiled and said “Sounds good, buddy!” knowing that RIT changes its breaks all the time. In fact, there is a huge calendar change starting next school year and winter break will be a couple weeks shorter than it was this year.
Grace was surprised that her fingerprint could not unlock my phone. “I thought we would have the same fingers because I came out of your body.”
I was feeling nauseous one day, so Grace brought me the “throw up bowl” with a little love note that said:
“My heart is breaking!” Kaylee wailed one night before bed. “I want to go sledding but there hasn’t been any snow!”
With 38 years of living in Rochester winters, I assured her that we would get more snow. It’s a long, long winter, baby….
Grace told a story the other day that went something like this:
What if you liked someone, and then when they looked at you, you were afraid your emotions would spill over, so you ignored them and walked past them. But then! They ran after you and you were surprised! But when you turned around to look at them, they were a CLONE! And then they ate you! At this point, she dissolved into laughter. I love the part where the “Emotions might spill over.”
