Things Heard Around my House: May 2017

Grace warned, “Don’t smell my shoes.  They smell like TERROR!”

Another day she said, “Let’s make a fruit salad! All fruit, no salad.”

“Dear Lord,” Gracie prayed. “Please help mommy’s tummy to stop hurting tonight, or tomorrow, or right now would be fine too.”

(Long pause….)

“Hold on a minute, Lord. I’m thinking right now would be best.”

Joshua offered to be a human clothes rack for his sister’s discarded sweatshirts.

“What did you think about the interpreter last night?” I asked Brian after a school event.

“Hmmm… what did you think?” he bounced the question back to me.  He doesn’t often criticize interpreters unless they are truly terrible.

“Well, I thought she was hard to watch and a bit awkward.  Maybe some people think that about me though…”

“True, I guess she was a little hard to watch. And no, when you interpret it is very elegant.”   Best compliment ever!

Kaylee is super excited about a school field trip to the Genesee Country Museum.

“I can’t wait to see the place where you and Daddy got married!  I’m going to get married there too when I grow up!”

Grace chimed in “Me too! I want to get married there too!”

They were shocked when I told them they could get married at any church or a park or even outside in our backyard.

“I sound *just* like Charlie Puth, don’t I, ma?”  Grace loves music and her favorite song to sing right now is “One Call Away” by Charlie Puth.

Weighted Blanket for my sis

Last year, my sister mentioned that she wanted a weighted blanket, like the ones doctors recommend to people with autism, anxiety or insomnia.  She’s always loved blankets (me too) and those heavy corn/ rice packs that can be warmed up in the microwave (me too).   Knowing that her birthday was coming up, I looked at buying […]
