“That place is a miracle worker!” Grace exclaimed as we left Dave and Busters, a game/ restaurant type place in the mall.
“How?” Joshua asked her.
“Well, on the way there, my stomach hurt, but when we got inside I felt all better!” She explained.
“Interesting…..” I muttered. “I thought it was like a torture chamber. The lights and noise gave me a migraine.”
Joshua’s favorite song is “The fighter” by Keith Urban.
Kaylee’s favorite song is “Life’s about to get real good” by Shania Twain.
Grace’s favorite song is either “House Party” by Sam Hunt or “Play that Song” by Train.
Brian bought an Amazon Echo, so the kids tell Alexa to play certain songs and she does! (I think this is another tech fad, but it’s pretty fun!)
Kaylee googled “How to grow tall faster”, when she realized her height was 53 and 3/4 inches the day before we went to Darien Lake Theme Park. She wanted to ride all the rollercoasters, but the height requirement is 54″. She drank a cup of milk and a couple children’s vitamins in hopes that would bump her height overnight.
While brushing our teeth , Grace spelled in sign language: Y-L-I-L
I signed back to her, “I don’t understand. Again please.”
She repeated slowly “Y-L-I-L”, then spit out her toothpaste and said “Your Life is Love” and smiled sweetly at me.
This girl, she knows how to make me melt.
“THIS PLACE IS MY NIGHTMARE!” Grace screamed after getting a fishing hook stuck in her palm. We were at a girl scout camping event and another girl caught a Gracie with her fishing pole. As she sobbed, I rocked her back and forth, repeating “I hate fishing too, I hate fishing too. We will never fish again, baby, never again.” My loving words (ha!), a few Band-Aids and drinking a 7-up made life better, and in no time she was back with her friends.
This has been the summer of inappropriate song lyrics. All three kids love to change the lyrics to songs on the radio. It is sooooo annoying because most of their creativity revolves around poop and body noises, but sometimes I think it’s a little bit funny.
Taken from the song “I believe I can fly” by R. Kelly.
“I believe I can fly. But I don’t want to die. So I won’t even try.”
Taken from the song “Confident” by Demi Lovato.
“What’s wrong with being, what’s wrong with being constipated, oh oh oh. You say I’m complicated, but I must be constipated”.
We took a two week road trip down to Disney World, pulling our camper behind us the whole way. It was amazing, exhausting, thrilling, crazy hot and humid, wonderful and a little bit terrible.
“Always take the trip!”
